Volunteer in Nepal
Volunteer Health/ HIV - Medical Program in Nepal
All citizens of a country have the right to good healthcare. The government of Nepal is committed to promotion of quality healthcare but due to lack of funds and poverty some kind of void is always there in this sector. It is more glaring in the rural areas. Healthcare in Nepal needs to be more organized.
Volunteers from all walks of life are welcome to join our ‘Healthcare Program’ to provide the much needed healing touch and help in filling up this void. Those having no formal healthcare education can contribute a lot by helping the local communities organize health awareness camps and provide door to door counseling to people in and around Katmandu. Their services can be an asset for the non government organizations dedicated to providing some healthcare to the underprivileged people. They can work in shelter homes or orphanages teaching children and staff about personal hygiene and sanitation. They can assist in providing first – ad to the needy.
Volunteers with a formal healthcare education, medical students, doctors, nurses, paramedics, dentists can organize camps for providing free eye checks, heart checks, dental checks etc. they can run vaccination campaigns to prevent certain diseases. Volunteers for this program would have home stay with a local family or in a guest house.
